Rate limits

Limits are applied per API key over a one-minute window.

  • Sandbox: 120 requests per minute per key.
  • Live: 300 requests per minute per key.

Every authenticated response includes the current state of your limit:

Response headers
RateLimit-Limit: 120
RateLimit-Remaining: 117
RateLimit-Reset: 42

When the limit is exceeded the API returns 429 rate_limited with a Retry-After header (seconds). Wait at least that long before retrying; reuse the same Idempotency-Key for POST requests.

Sign-in and other account endpoints in the dashboard have separate, stricter limits per IP address and per email.

Limits are enforced per API server instance in the current deployment model; a shared store is planned before running multiple instances.
